Important Notes:

• Application Deadlines: Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible for the best selection of internships, and to arrange an interview with an Internship Coordinator. Internships are competitive and spots are limited. After May 31st, prospective interns should call our office before submitting an application to find out remaining availability.
• Industry Selection & The Internship Placement Process: Please keep in mind that although we are typically able to accommodate an applicant's first choice, we require that a second and third industry choice are also selected at the time of application submission. Alternatively, you can apply to a single industry as long as you're willing to consider more than one location, except as noted below concerning age requirements, citizenship requirements, and industries or programs with limited availability. Your application will be reviewed and you will be assigned to an Internship Coordinator for an admissions interview based on the program with the best available options in your industry of interest. Regardless of your particular industry and/or program selections in your application, an Internship Coordinator will work with you to establish a customized Internship Placement Plan based on your specific interests, skills, and objectives. Depending on the time of year your application is received, our available internships, and your specific skills, experience, and capabilities, we may be able to guarantee placement in a single industry or sub-industry. Your Internship Placement Plan, which you will receive with your acceptance decision and prior to your enrollment in the program, is our guarantee concerning the internship placement aspect of Discovery Internships. • Age Requirements: You must be at least 16 years old at the time of participation to apply to Discovery Internships NYC or London, and at least 15 to apply to Discovery Internships Boston, Chicago, or Los Angeles.
• Citizenship Requirements: Students from all over the world are eligible to participate in Discovery Internships. However, you must hold US citizenship to participate in a medical or psychology internship in the United States (due to US Dept. of State regulations). Alternatively, there are generally no citizenship restrictions for medical internship applicants to our London Program. International students interested in medicine should only apply to London.
• Industries With Limited Availability: If you are applying for a medicine, engineering, sports management, or finance internship after March 1st, you MUST select a second choice industry other than medicine, engineering, sports, or finance for your application to be considered. The exception is for medical internship applicants to our Chicago program who can still apply for "medicine only."
• Programs With Limited Availability: At this time, all Discovery Internships program locations are open to new applicants. As of May 14th, Discovery Internships London has fewer than 3 spaces remaining.

Starting an Application

If this is your first time completing an application, please enter your e-mail address below under "Start a New Application." You will receive an e-mail to verify your e-mail address and a unique Application Code which you will need to begin your application. Your e-mail address and Application Code are case sensitive.

All students should apply with an email address that is appropriate for professional use (for example, johnsmith2011@gmail.com). School email addresses (johnsmith@example.edu) are also fine. Email addresses such as iluv2shop and princess123 are not appropriate. You can create a free Gmail or Yahoo email account and set up forwarding to your regular email address if necessary.

Parents are discouraged from submitting applications on the behalf of a student. However, we know that many parents want to support the application process in a number of ways and we encourage parents to register below if they would like to start an application to Discovery Internships. Please note, the email address provided below will be the "master" email address associated with your Discovery Internships application.

Application Requirements

As part of the application, you will be asked to provide the email address of one reference for your required letter of recommendation, a few short essay responses, and provide a non-refundable $95 application fee. Please note, Discovery Internships residential tuition starts at $6,299. An enrollment deposit of at least $1500 (depending on the time of year) is required to secure your place in the program if you are accepted and choose to enroll in Discovery Internships. Letter of Recommendation

You do not need to contact your reference about your request for him or her to provide a letter of recommendation to Discovery Internships. Our admissions office will contact him or her using the email address you provided upon submitting your application to the Discovery Internships program. You can  change the designated person at any time prior to application submission, or leave blank and we will provide you with information for obtaining a Letter of Recommendation upon application submission. Only one reference is required to apply to Discovery Internships, however you can provide a second optional reference if you would like.

You don't have to complete the entire application at once. Feel free to complete as many steps as you like. All data will be saved and you'll be able to return to this site and continue working on your application whenever you like by using your email address and unique Application Code to log in.
